The FIA Formula E championship currently in it’s fifth season used holographic technology to launch the 2019 race in Mexico city. Alejandro Agag, CEO introduced the event in live holographic speech being broadcast from London to Mexico City via Musion’s immersive telepresence solution. The holographic show continued with a 3D model of the GEN2 car accompanied by commentary from holographic Formula E drivers.  The event took place in Sala Club and 200 local celebrities and press attended.

Motor racing is a rapidly growing sport with increased interest for sustainability and  clean energy. The Formula E Electric Street Racing Series is a motor racing championship for electrically-powered vehicles recognised by motorsport’s governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), as the highest class of competition for electric open-wheel racing cars.

Musion’s technology was selected because it allowed the busy CEO and drivers to attend and contribute to the event without being physically present. The Eyeliner™  display showcased the technologically advanced designs of the GEN 2 car allowing it to break into numerous components so the audience could see the inner-workings of the engine.
